Burlington House Sixth Form offers one of the most supportive and thoughtfully designed Sixth Form experiences in London, for students aged 16 and over. From the next academic year we are moving into our new home at the former Prep School site in Fulham, an important step that reflects the continued growth of what we offer. Students are known well here, and supported to make confident decisions about their next steps.
A fresh start at our new Fulham site
Year 11 is a significant moment. Alongside preparing for important exams, students are making decisions about their next steps and beginning the transition into young adulthood. Our role is to provide clarity, structure and reassurance throughout that process, in an environment that visitors often describe as having a genuinely adult feel, which is something we have worked hard to create.
What we focus on
Everything we do is underpinned by three priorities. First, we make sure every student is on the right course, with clear guidance and flexible pathways so that each individual has the best possible chance of success. Second, we build on each student’s strengths to support meaningful progression into employment, further study or training. Third, we place a strong emphasis on developing confidence and self-belief, through a carefully integrated programme of therapeutic and pastoral support.
Inclusive by design
We are proud of how inclusive our academic provision is. Success looks different for every student, and it is all valued equally; a student achieving a GCSE through a retake pathway is celebrated just as much as one achieving strong A Level results. Our range of courses allows us to meet students where they are, rather than expecting them to fit a single model.
Support woven in
Students benefit from weekly work experience with local businesses, carefully matched to their interests, with placements that have included baristas, sound and lighting technicians, illustrators and teaching assistants. Our therapeutic provision is central too: counsellors, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists work alongside teachers, tutors and learning support assistants, strengthened by Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSAs) and a dedicated Mental Health Lead.
