Our Sixth Form curriculum is mainstream in structure yet specialist in nature, offering a wide range of vocational and academic qualifications alongside a strong focus on the world of work. Students follow personalised programmes built around their strengths, supported by specialist teaching, assistive technology and therapy, so that they are prepared not only for their qualifications but for confident, independent adult life.
A curriculum built around the individual
Our curriculum is rooted in a deep knowledge of each student as an individual, and exploring their passions and interests sits at its core. Specialist teaching is supported by assistive technology in the classroom, the targeted use of intelligent assessment, and both therapeutic and academic intervention, which lets us identify gaps in understanding and accelerate progress. A strong extra-curricular offering helps build self-belief and broaden horizons.
A broad choice of courses
Students can study a wide range of academic and vocational subjects, including Art and the Arts Award, Business, Child Development, Digital Information Technology, E-Sports, English Literature, the Extended Project Qualification, History, Mathematics, Media Studies, Performing Arts, Photography, Psychology, Science, Sociology, and Travel and Tourism, alongside GCSE resits where they are needed.
Ready for the world of work
Our Sixth Form takes a broader approach than qualifications alone. A focus on work experience placements and extra-curricular opportunities is designed to equip students with the practical skills that make them ready for the world of employment, as well as for further study or training.
