All Children Can Achieve

Lang Lang visits Burlington House School

Posted: 9th October 2025

Earlier this week, Burlington House School was featured by the Lang Lang International Music Foundation and BBC News, celebrating the incredible musical talent of our pupils and the positive impact that music can have on young neurodiverse learners.

During the visit, world-renowned pianist Lang Lang met our pupils and was deeply moved by their performances. Speaking in the BBC interview, he shared how inspired he was by one of our pupils, William, whose enthusiasm for music has helped encourage others to follow their own creative paths.

“I was very moved by their playing,” Lang Lang said. “There’s a wonderful student named William, and I was so touched by his musical talent. He’s helping other kids to get somewhere that they are dreaming for. To see how music changed their lives is just so emotional for me.”

Lang Lang also spoke about the importance of introducing children to music at any age, especially those with neurodiverse needs.

“Please support children to learn an instrument,” he said. “It doesn’t need to be only piano – it can be guitar, drums, whatever instrument – but to get into this great experience. It will surely become a great friend to your child.”

His visit and the BBC feature highlight the powerful role that music plays at Burlington House School, where pupils are encouraged to explore creativity, build confidence and express themselves through performance and composition.

We are proud to see our pupils recognised for their dedication and passion, and grateful to the Lang Lang International Music Foundation and BBC News for shining a light on the transformative power of music in neurodiverse education.
