In January 2026, the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) confirmed that Burlington House School meets all the Independent School Standards across every area inspected, including leadership and management, quality of education, pupils’ physical and mental health and emotional wellbeing, social and economic education, and safeguarding.
Inspectors recognised that leaders have a “well-considered vision for the school” and make promoting pupils’ wellbeing their highest priority.
The report highlights that pupils make good progress from their starting points and achieve well. Teachers have strong subject knowledge and work closely with therapeutic and support staff to provide highly individualised provision. As a result, pupils are supported effectively to access the curriculum and develop confidence in their learning.
Inspectors also noted the school’s strong culture of respect. Pupils are taught to treat others fairly and kindly, and the PSHE curriculum helps them understand diversity in modern society. This contributes to a welcoming and friendly environment where pupils feel accepted and valued.
Burlington House School is also inspected by CReSTeD, the authority responsible for schools teaching children with dyslexia. In 2025 CReSTeD described the school as “compact and welcoming” alongside “The school has a robust, thoughtful, realistic and clear process to ensure that needs of individuals can be met within the school”
