In its first full Ofsted inspection, Burlington House School Tooting was rated ‘Good’ in all areas, including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
The inspectors recognised the nurturing and inclusive ethos of the Tooting site, noting that “pupils are happy here and pleased to be in a school that understands and supports their individual needs.” Many pupils join with previous negative experiences of education, yet Burlington House Tooting has built an environment where pupils “settle in quickly and are made to feel welcome.”
The report praises the school’s “broad and ambitious curriculum” and the “skilled” teaching staff, who personalise learning and adapt to each pupil’s needs with care and flexibility. Small class sizes and strong relationships are central to the school’s success.
Pupils’ wider development was also highlighted as a strength. From mindfulness walks and therapy-based life skills to a structured careers programme starting in Year 7, inspectors noted that personal development is “woven through school life” and prepares pupils well for their next steps.
Ofsted concluded that “parents feel immensely grateful to have this school”, and acknowledged the school’s success in fostering both academic progress and personal growth within a calm, respectful and caring community.
